Start with a clear look at your tax debt
You may have an unpaid balance, several years of tax returns to address, or a letter you do not understand. A useful first conversation identifies the problem and the next decision you need to make.
Call (855) 494-5639Tax relief contact: Republic Tax
What kind of help do you need?
Start with the tax year, approximate amount owed, and the agency that contacted you. Mention any collection notice or response date early in the conversation. If you are unsure about the amount, say so; a figure from an old letter may differ from the current balance.
Discuss the options that fit the problem
- Payment arrangements: ask how a monthly payment could fit your household budget and what is needed to request it.
- Settlement review: ask whether your finances support looking into an offer in compromise.
- Penalty questions: identify the penalty and discuss whether there is a basis to request relief.
- Past-due returns: confirm which years need filing and which income records are available.
These are separate services with different requirements. Ask which work is proposed for you and what remains outside that scope.
Know what happens before you agree
Request an explanation of fees, responsibilities, and the expected steps. Ask who will handle your case and whether IRS representation is included. A call does not establish eligibility or guarantee a result.
Bring what you have
Keep recent letters, available returns, and payment confirmations nearby. You can explain missing records during the call rather than postponing the conversation until everything is assembled.
